My TRUE story

My TRUE story

  • Finally, the penny has dropped for me.

Today the last piece of the jigsaw fell into place and I now feel that I have all the tools I need to best serve the animals and their humans who seek my help and support.

    Let me tell you why….

I have always loved dogs. Here’s me as a youngster with my first furry love, my uncle’s boxer, Benji.

As soon as I had a home of my own,  the first fur-baby joined us and my love affair with dogs began. I started going to training classes and learning more about how to best manage the needs and behaviours of my dogs in a very practical way.

I knew I wanted to work with dogs, but my ‘day job’ in marketing just didn’t accommodate this, so I started helping out with the dog training classes and in time I’d learned enough to be able to take classes of my own.  I really enjoyed helping the dogs and their people to better understand each other and to live in harmony, but the wellbeing of the animal was of even greater interest to me.

I instinctively knew where dogs might need support.  They might need a change in diet, or maybe their harness was uncomfortable. Perhaps they needed their people to approach something in a different way.  I was able to steer people in a possible direction to make a positive change, but I didn’t always have enough knowledge on the subject to offer the advice they sought.

I started learning with such a voracious appetite.  Course, after course, after course.

    I was insatiable.

My curiosity led me to courses on canine nutrition, acupressure, animal first aid, managing dog reactivity, herbal self-medication (aromatherapy for dogs!), canine massage and rehabilitation to name but a few.

I started a part-time business in 2015 providing effective therapies with the techniques and therapies I was learning but I was still searching for THE course that would fulfil the gap in my knowledge that I felt was missing.

In 2016 my journey led me to a Reiki Master who gave me a wonderful treatment, and this opened up the world of energy and energy healing to me.  I was fascinated by the effect it had on me and wanted to learn more, so I started my next learning journey and became a Reiki Master in 2018.

Then things started to come together and I realised that energy was at the heart of all the work that I loved, from the vibration of the essential oils  to the frequency of the tuning forks in my sound healing and the variety of energies that I could create with my Reiki healing.

In 2020 my next teacher and mentor helped me to understand my journey to reach this point, and to realise that the course that I had been seeking all along – the one that would fill the missing piece in my heart to enable me to be the best animal advocate that I can be – had been with me all along!

The missing piece was my ability to connect energetically with animals, in the same way that I feel the energy of Reiki, but my mentor helped me see that I have been able to do this ALL MY LIFE.
It was present in the way that I just knew that a dog needed help with his diet, or harness or way of life, I just hadn’t realised or embraced it as a ‘thing’. But it is, and it’s called Animal Communication.

Animal communication isn’t a ‘gift’ or a psychic ability. It simply relies on a well-developed sense of intuition and being open to the flow of energy in the universe (which all comes down to quantum physics, but that’s a blog for another day!) and everyone can do it.

So recently I’ve been flexing my animal communication muscles and refining my skills, so that I can confidently integrate my ability to sense the issues that our pets worry about, and chat with animals about the ways we can help them feel more safe, secure, relaxed and happy in their lives.

I’ll be adding case studies and information about this new service to my website in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for the next step in my journey, but for now I am proud to say….

My name is Lesley, and I am an Animal Communicator
    (and I always have been!)
